For tree-huggers and eco-superheroes, Earth Day is like Christmas. Okay, we don’t cut down trees and put them in our houses for Earth Day. We don’t really have any neat songs to sing either. Nor do we put out a bunch of twinkle lights or go into a frenzy of cookie baking and candy making. But we have presents! Yes!
In honor of Earth Day, Recycla and Enviro-Girl have Great Give-Aways for 2 of our readers. All you need to do is leave a comment and your suggestion for future topics, and we’ll draw 2 lucky winners at the end of the week.
For one lucky winner we offer up an Assortment of Seeds from Seeds of Change, a fantastic company committed to heirloom plants and seeds and organic gardening.
For our other lucky winner, we have a Rhubarb Spring Cleaning Kit from Mrs. Meyers Clean Day. Fresh, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, this kit includes 8 oz. of everything you need–All Purpose Cleaner, Countertop Spray, Window Spray, and Liquid Dish Soap.
So, to recap:
1. Earth Day = Christmas = Super Gift Give-Away!
2. Post a comment & idea for future topics
3. By Friday
4. Enviro-Girl & Recycla will pick 2 lucky winners
5. Winners get Prizes!
6. Enviro-Girl & Recycla will write amazing posts about your topic suggestions
7. We’ll all keep working together to Save the Planet!

In this economically challenged day and age, I believe it is even more important that we put our dollars where they can make the most impact, environmentally. How about showcasing the good, the bad, and the uglies of retailers?
Not an entry, as I wouldn’t want to kill you with the postage, but how about a series of articles each focussing on a room of the house and how to make it greener:
The Green Study
The Green bedroom
etc
I would like to know of more ways to help my high school become greener…such as lunch room waste…We recycle, but what else can we do?
Great site!
I’d like to learn more about how to really shop green for household products – everything from cleaners to paint to furniture.
Hey Enviro Girl! Can we enter our own giveaway? I want free stuff too.
XO,
Recycla
I love seeds of change! For suggestions, I can offer the Brita take the filter back (for recycling) campaign, CFC lightbulbs that have mercury in them and therefore are a health hazard even if the save energy and money, or the new energy vampire light switch plates that show devices still using energy even though they are turned off. Ok, that’s all I have! Happy Earth Day!
How do you live organic on a budget? We have no money and I really want to do the organic thing, but I am afraid to break the bank here. (We also have no health stores nearby so that kind of defeats the idea too.) Do your kids get involved in the green thing? How do you keep them interested? How did YOU get started doing all this green stuff?
I had more but I can’t remember them right now. It’s probably safer than way anyway
