Now I’m embarrassed
I feel like we do a decent job at water conservation but irrigating our yard in rain~less Colorado is killing us… Here’s my footprint:
Your total household water use is 4,373.33 gallons per day
Your individual water use is 1,093.33 gallons per da
Here are my numbers:
4,224/day or 1,056/person — the bulk of that is coming from the processes involved with the milk we drink and the meat we eat.
Wee-haw! We’re below the average! 2,652.99/day or 884.33/person. It helps to have one member of the family be a tot who doesn’t often shower. Plus I refuse to water our lawn. The garden gets a hit a couple times a week. And yes, the meat/dairy is jumping up our consumption as well.
We’re below average, but not by much. I think our rain water barrels will make a huge difference. Other than that, there isn’t much else we can do here.
