Celebrating 2 years of Eco Women: Pet Eco Update

The Eco Women are celebrating their second blog anniversary this week! Check out our daily giveaways and leave comments to win prizes.

Eco Lassie was checking out what’s new for your beloved pets in terms of eco-friendly gear and she came across these goodies:

West Paw Cat Toys are created from eco-friendly 85% recycled materials, and are stuffed with organic catnip.  They come in mouse of fish shapes and made in Montana.  Just the thing for your little kitty!

Also for your favorite cat is the new Bamboo Cat Collar. Bamboo is a natural antibacterial material, and these collars are soft but durable.  They’ll adjust to fit from 6″ to 12″ neck, with a breakaway plastic buckle for safety. Available from Wagging Green (www.wagginggreen.com).

Of course if it’s good for your kitty to be eco-adorable, it must be for your dog, too.  Wagging Green also has a line of bamboo dog collars and leashes.  My fave is this one which proudly proclaims your dog is an “Eco Dog.”

When I was checking out West Paw, I also came across this neat dog toy. It’s called a Zogoflex Hurley dog toy and claims to be the best of a ball, stick and chew toy all in one.  These babies float so if your dog likes the water like my Radar does, you can play fetch in the river without a care. Non-toxic and pliable to be gentle on your pup’s mouth, they’re available in tangerine, aqua or green and are dishwasher-safe.

That’s Delilah and Sam in the UK playing tug-o’-war with a Hurley.  Thanks, North Coast Marines.

My last eco-choice is an organic dog treat.  These are human grade (which means you and I can eat them in a pinch!)made with organic ingredients which include whole wheat flour, oats, vegetable oil, eggs and beef or chicken bouillon. They’re made by Mrs. Bow Wowz and are in the shape of tiny cats, so their names is “Itty bitty kitties-” how cute is that? These are available from Fair Indigo (www.fairindigo.com.

Enjoy surfing for some new eco treats for YOUR pet. Especially one as cute as this little Lakeland Terrier!
